About the LOTBG Database
This custom database project started about 6 years ago when Azzam started his long term research
to create many legendary players from scratch as real as possible for use in Football Manager.
Thanks to his hard work, LOTBG versions are available for FM20, FM21, FM22, FM23 and FM24!
With this extra data-set the most legendary players from football history will appear
in your Football Manager game. How cool is that!
At the start all legendary players will play for the club where their career started.
Also career wishes have been added, so that the players can end up at the club where
they became a true legend.
This means that you can buy these players for your club,
but sooner or later their most favorite club might want to buy them from you for the right price.
In short, enjoy these players as long as you have them!

Information / Most frequently asked questions
How many legendary players are included?
There are 1050 legendary players and 45 managers included for use in FM2022.
Maradona, Pelé, Cruyff, Ronaldo, Schumacher, Van Basten, Romario, Platini and Thierry Henry
are a few of many legends that will appear in your game!
DF11 Legends facepack:
Depending on the version, the LOTBG Facepack contains between 600 and 1050 player images.
Images of various legendary managers are also included.
Is it save game compatible?
No. Just like any other custom database update, you will have to start a new career
every time you add a new (updated) database to your Football Manager game.
What are the 'player wishes'?
The wishes of 'Legendary players' are related to their favorite club.
These wishes ensure that the player may be approached by that club in the future.
For example > Diego Maradona
Starts his career in Argentina while playing for Argentinos Juniors.
He wishes to play for Napoli in the future.
How old are these legends in my game?
Azzam has created a simple logical link to the year of born.
Players who were born in 1940s will start the game at the age of 22. (For example Pele and Cruyff)
Players who were born in 1950s will start the game at the age of 21. (For example Zico and Platini)
Players who were born in 1970s will start the game at the age of 19. (For example Ronaldo and Zidane)
Players who were born in 1980s will start the game at the age of 18. (For example Messi and CR7)
The database contains even players who are born in 1880.
Now you can do the math....
Does this database and facepack work with other databases and facepacks in FM?
No.
It is not likely that it will work with other custom databases.
This is because of the new ID numbers that are regularly been added by Football Manager.
You can contact the author in case you experience any issues related to the LOTBG files.
LOTBG Update packs
Azzam will release update packs to extend the LOTBG pack on a regular base so keep an eye on his project
via this page, or via Steam and X (Twitter).
How to make the updates work?
1 - Remove the old LOTBG files first before installing the new LOTBG pack.
2 - Follow the LOTBG install guide on the page.
3 - Start a new career game.
How to install the LOTBG pack?
It's easy!
1 - Download the LOTBG file for the correct version of your game
2 - Extract the file
Windows >> Use 7zip (or winrar)
Mac >> Use The Unarchiver (or Decompressor)
After the extraction you will receive some folders named as 'editor data' - 'graphics' - ('shortlists')
- The 'editor data' contains the custom database.
- The 'graphics' folder contains the DF11 Legends facepack.
- The 'shortlist' file is for easy searching (not available for FM23 | FM24)
3 - Add the 3 files (editor data + graphics + shortlists)
to the Football Manager location on your computer:
WINDOWS >> Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 20**\
MAC >> Users\Username\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 20**\
MAC CATALINA >> Username\Library\Application Support\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 20**\
4 - Start your Football Manager 20** game:
- Select to start a new "Career" game.
- Choose the Football Manager database on the top right.
- Select the file 'The Legends Of The Beautiful Games'.
- Click the 'Confirm' button.
IMPORTANT NOTE FM24:
If you want to play LOTBG in FM24:
1 - Make sure you have saved a game in FM23 including the LOTBG FM23 data.
2 - Load your FM23 game in FM24 via the FM24 start-up screen.
3 - If using the LOTBG FM23 facepack, you will have to place the LOTBG facepack in your FM2024 Graphics folder.
