Football Manager is already an incredibly immersive experience, allowing players to take control of their favorite clubs and build dynasties. But what if you could step back in time and manage the greatest football legends of all time? Enter Legends of the Beautiful Game (LOTBG) – a custom database that breathes new life into Football Manager by introducing over 1,050 legendary players and 45 legendary managers to the game.

What is LOTBG?

LOTBG is a specially crafted database designed for Football Manager that integrates iconic footballers from different eras. Created by Azzam Alafgani, this project allows FM players to experience managing some of the sport’s most historic figures, from Pelé and Maradona to Zidane and Cruyff.

At the start of the game, each legend begins their career at the club where they first made their mark. With carefully designed career paths, these players will have opportunities to move to the clubs where they became icons. This means you could see Thierry Henry returning to Arsenal or Ronaldo Nazário again leading the line at Real Madrid!

DF11 Legends Facepack

A major feature that makes LOTBG stand out is its visual authenticity, thanks to the DF11 Legends Facepack. With between 600 and 1,050 face images, depending on the version, each legendary player is brought to life in-game with a high-quality, realistic portrait. This adds an extra layer of immersion, making it feel like these icons never left the pitch!

How to Install LOTBG and the DF11 Legends Facepack

Download the correct LOTBG version for your Football Manager game.
Extract the downloaded file using WinRAR (Windows) or The Unarchiver for MAC.
You will find two folders: editor data + graphics. In some versions of LOTBG, you will also receive a third folder called "shortlists."
Place the folders 'editor data' + 'graphics' (+ shortlists) in the main Football Manager folder:

Windows: Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 20**
Mac: Username/Library (=hidden)/Application Support/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 20**
Start-up Football Manager.
A. Start a new career game.
B. Choose the Football Manager database on the top right C. Select the file: 'The Legends Of The Beautiful Games'
Go to Preferences > Interface.
- Uncheck ‘Use caching to decrease page loading times.’
- Check ‘Reload skin when confirming changes.’ - Click 'confirm.'
